If there's that many cabs hanging around, that's a sign right there to move along.picklesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083577144119475988.post-14103191110147652092012-06-11T08:42:06.308-05:002012-06-11T08:42:06.308-05:00I'm with you! We still spent $40 a head for just okay food. Not terrible food but mostly unimpressive and wildly overpriced.Lailahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947075452369819827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083577144119475988.post-42871751034184763072012-06-09T10:05:44.066-05:002012-06-09T10:05:44.066-05:00Thank you! I have never had a good meal there especially considering the prices! The cult following absolutely mystifies me & I wouldn't send a tourist there given all the far better options in the area.Dorenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083577144119475988.post-47341621352546628992012-06-08T18:54:07.457-05:002012-06-08T18:54:07.457-05:00Well, i think i agree to a point...you see i have ...Well, i think i agree to a point...you see i have a special relation to this restaurant since it´s the place i traditionally always been taken to by friends in the city right after i land - and after 17 hrs of travel with awful air-food Jaques-Imos is heaven...

BUT there IS as good and better food elsewhere and it is a bit of a pain-in-the-ass to have to wait 2 hrs for a table despite you can do it in maple leaf bar.

And then it´s the noise -level...sometimes it´s hard to keep up the convo..

But you have to agree that the gator cheesecake is to die for..Helena Tiarehttp://www.amountainofcrushedice.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083577144119475988.post-59644796164443314122012-06-08T07:25:21.887-05:002012-06-08T07:25:21.887-05:00Couldn't agree more. Eventually we decided that an hour-plus wait for 2nd tier good food was not a fun evening out. There are sooo many good places in the Carrollton-Maple-Freret area. Jacque-Imo's seems to be doing fine with the guide-book crowd. They are good for Oak Street, though. If there wasn't a Jacque-Imo's there probably wouldn't be an Oak, a Cowbell, a Chiba, the coming French Bakery and Magic Mushroom Pizza. I appreciate Jacque-Imo's but they can give my table to the tourists.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
